The story : In 1979 , a group of extremely talented & equally creative friends who all hung out at the most popular club in England decided to start a band.
The timing was perfect.
Shortly after their first gig , the band went from the name 'Gentry' to 'Spandau Ballet'.
Everyone they knew was an artist of some sort and that helped put them in the spotlight.
Then , they got signed and had complete creative freedom.
They got really popular and then faded out a bit.
Until they took a break in the Bahamas....and a brand new sound and look emerged.
In the early 80s , Spandau Ballet found themselves back on top.
Everything they did was better than the last and it seemed like things could only get better.
But sometimes egos and boredom just get in the way.
