Paige is planning on preparing dinner this year. She will also be meeting Spence's mom.
So Paige is getting dinner delivered.
At the bookstore, Ellen takes some flack for giving a homeless man a cup of coffee from Ed.
She tells him she is a very charitable person and accuses him of not being.
He tells her every Thanksgiving he helps out at the homeless shelter for Thanksgiving dinner.
Ellen thinks that's a good idea and decides she would like to help out as well.
At the shelter, Ellen meets Perry, who is serving food alongside her.
She invites him to dinner only she doesn't realize he is actually homeless.
