The Twilight Zone : Night of the Meek (1985)

Made for CBS, airing December 20th in the US.
Part 1 of 3. Season 1. Episode 13.
The story: Henry Corwin is a drunk who doesn't have much but is currently holding down a temp job as Santa Claus in an expensive department store.
After his break, which he spent drinking at the local bar, he returns to work a bit too drunk and gets fired on the spot.
When being told by his ex-boss that he has now ruined Christmas for all the children who have come to see him, he responds by saying that the children in that store won't be disappointed in the least.
It's the kids outside, who live on the street in that particular neighborhood that will be the disappointed ones.
Later that evening while drinking his cares away, Mr.C is greeted by carolers at his stoop.
He quickly puts his Santa suit on and goes out into the street to give what little he has to the children.
But he finds a surprise inside his gift bag, a surprise that will make all the needy happy and him a lot happier to oblige their Christmas wishes.
