The story: It's Christmas Eve.
Alex and Tony are catching a quick football game on TV before Tony goes down to the kids' home to play Santa.
Alex is driving cab tonight.
A knock on the door proves to be Alex's ex-wife Phyllis.
She begs Alex to let her stay or at least allow her to go to work with him as she cannot bear to be alone for the holidays again.
Alex finally gives in and allows her to stay.
When Simka and Latka invite everyone to their home for a party, Louie lets them all leave work early.
Alex brings Phyllis even though he fears she may not be very good company.
