The story : Virgil Oldman is a prudish auctioneer of fine art.
He is also quite the scam artist as he commonly obtains the pieces he is looking to have without much trouble.
Virgil is contacted by a young woman who is looking to sell her deceased parents fine art.
Virgil is very interested so he  gives the timid woman many chances to get together with him.
Although she never does allow Virgil to see her , the young woman explains to him that she has locked herself away from the world for many years now.
Virgil is advised by a friend to be patient with the fragile woman , and in time his plan seems to work.
She finally comes out of hiding as Virgil gains her trust...
But who is gaining whose trust exactly?
