The story: Jamie has his new friend Adam from school over to help him fix his bike.
While fixing the bike, Adam explains that he is a latch key kid and that it doesn't bother him.
Adam believes being a latch key kid has lots of perks.
For instance, for Thanksgiving, he gets to go with a bunch of kids from the youth center on a super neat trip where they will ice skate and ski and have a giant Thanksgiving feast.
Jamie thinks this sounds like lots of fun.
So he tries talking his parents into doing something fun on Thanksgiving but all they wanna do is sleep in, eat, lounge around the house, watch the football game, and sleep.
Jamie thinks he will be bored stiff.
So he and Vicki go down to the youth center and try playing the role of latch key kids so they can go on the same trip as Adam.
