Filmed entirely in California.
The story : 16-year-old Ruby and her 11-year-old brother live pretty normal teen lives with their supportive , loving parents.
One evening Ruby has snuck out of her house while her parents are out celebrating their wedding anniversary.
When she returns back home , she isn't exactly surprised to find the police there.
Unfortunately , the reason the police are there is much worse than Ruby guessed.
Ruby and her brother are quickly informed that they have lost their parents to an accident.
Then they find out their new guardians are people who used to be very close to their parents.
But this new living arrangement may not be the safest one for Ruby and her little brother.
