The story : As a boy , Cecil Gaines lived a life of cotton picking like his parents.
As a young adult , Cecil left the only home he had ever known on his own.
Shortly after setting out into the world , his life was changed forever.
Cecil was taught to be a busboy in a very important hotel.
The next thing he knew , he was learning the ropes at his new job of butler at the White House.
Married and raising two sons , Cecil worked very hard at his job , taking it serious and enjoying being a part of life in the White House even if he wasnt being paid the same as some of the other help.
Over the course of many years , Cecil stayed a proud , honest man , working at the While House while the times were always changing.
