The story: Seeing how Jake will be spending the holiday with his mom, Alan asks if Charlie has any plans.
He doesn't but talks Alan into going to Las Vegas.
Right after that, Alan learns Charlie has a date with his ex, Lisa.
He is hoping they will get back together once again.
But Charlie learns that Lisa is engaged to get married and she just met with him to have some closure and part as friends.
Charlie finally agrees he wants the same thing and then, he learns, Lisa will be alone for the holiday.
So he invites her to his house, where he plans to make dinner and have a big family celebration to show her that he is the family man she believes he cannot be.
