The story: This year, Alice will be cooking dinner for everyone.
Her mom is coming and she cannot wait to meet Alice's new beau.
When she gets there she explains she's been sick.
She also tells Alice she brought a 28-pound turkey.
Alice already has a turkey to cook but mom lays on the guilt pretty thick, undermining Alice from "her" Thanksgiving dinner ideas.
