Filmed entirely in Canada.
The story : One morning , young Sophie awakens and walks out into the family zoo that she lives at with her mother and father.
Sophie is shocked to see her lifelong friend , Sheba the elephant , being taken away from the zoo in a truck.
When Sophie confronts her parents about Sheba being taken away , she is told that her family can no longer afford to pay for Sheba as well as Sophies ballet school.
So her parents sold Sheba to the circus.
Sophie will not stand for that.
The very next day , Sophie is off to the circus to save her best friend.
Instead , Sophie ends up joining the circus to take care of Sheba and befriends a few circus people along the way.
