The story : Vee is a high school senior , who is shy and spends most of her time fawning over a guy that doesn't know she exists.
She is yearning to break away from her boring life but she doesn't have the guts.
One day her friend Sydney tells her to sign up for a new internet game called Nerve , which is kind of like truth or dare only more involved and scary.
On Nerve , one can be a player or a watcher.
Of course Vee signs up just to watch but decides it's not her thing.
Sydney tries to get Vee to be more daring , so in an attempt to motivate her she tells her crush she's interested.
When that doesn't work out , Vee snaps and decides she wants to play Nerve instead.
