The story : Once an up-and-coming baseball player now a broken down drunk , Morris Buttermaker doesnt have much going for him these days.
A women looking for an adult to take her sons baseball team into a real game recruits Buttermaker to be their coach.
Buttermaker expects the kids to have some idea about the game but they dont.
He tries a couple things with the kids but that doesnt work.
He spends time with them while getting drunk but that doesnt do much good either.
When Buttermaker gets fed up with the other teams shit and his teams low self-esteem , he decides to ask the young daughter of his ex who happens to be a great baseball player to help out.
