Filmed in Michigan and New Jersey.
The story : Virginia is a young single mom to 16-year-old Emmet.
Emmet is doing the best he can , looking out for his not-so-stable mom but hes just a kid.
Virgina has been having an affair with the local sheriff who happens to be a married Mormon for the past 16 years.
When Virginia gets sick , she cannot accept that. She decides she is with child instead.
Her lover thinks their relationship is all fun and games until she tells him shes pregnant and keeping the baby.
Now hes serious and wants nothing much to do with her as he sees this as cause to make him lose the state senate election he is now trying to win.
This leaves Virgina and Emmet with even less resources.
