Mr. Harrigan's Phone ; Stephen King's (2022)

Made for Netflix, airing on instant streaming October 5th in the US.
Filmed entirely in Connecticut.
The story: Craig is a young boy who lives with his father in a small Maine town.
He lives a pretty lonely, quiet life now that his mom has passed away.
Craig meets the powerful, aging recluse, Mr. Harrison after he hears Craig read in church one day.
Mr. Harrison hires Craig to come to his home and read to him, as his eyesight is failing.
For many years, Craig visits and reads to Mr. Harrison for five dollars a week.
The only other thing Craig ever receives from Mr. Harrison besides wisdom is holiday cards with a one-dollar scratch ticket enclosed.
The two become close friends, so close that after Craig enters high school and gets a cell phone, he wins money on one of the scratch tickets, and the only purchase he makes is a cell phone for Mr. Harrison.
This changes how Mr. Harrison sees the locked-away world he has been living in and it also bonds the two.
When Mr. Harrison passes away suddenly though, Craig continues to text and call Mr. Harrison.
To Craigs' surprise, Mr. Harrison responds, which inspires Craig and the future choices he makes.
