The story : In 1975 , Jack and Janet Smurl - along with their two small daughters and Jacks parents relocate to a new home , a duplex in a small town in Pennsylvania.
At first, Janet is nervous but soon finds that her family fits perfectly into their new neighborhood.
Within ten years time, strange little things happen to Janet and Jack but they really pay no mind.
Then the strange things begin to get bigger and happen to just Janet and her mother in law , only Jack and his father don't believe.
When Jack witnesses some strange happenings in the night he then believes his wife's claims.
That's when Janet is able to convince Jack that they need to get their family some help.
