The story: Doug, Arthur, and Carrie get stuck on the freeway when the car breaks down on their way home after getting their Christmas tree.
They end up having to walk eight blocks to get home. Doug's screwdriver wasn't in the car because Arthur took it out, that didn't go well.
Then they find out it's gonna cost them to get the car fixed and that the transmission may be on its way out.
So, Doug and Carrie consider getting a new car, even though they were trying to wait.
The car Doug wants is out of their price range by far.
So Arthur surprises them with a new car.
