originally posted on AOL Blogs, Sunday, February 12, 2006

Released July 22nd in the US.
Filmed entirely in Antarctica.
The story: For many decades, Emperor penguins have lived their lives and made their families in the frigid surroundings of Antarctica.
Two men, who work for National Geographic had been in Antarctica doing some work prior to making this film when they were exposed to the extreme measures Emperor penguins deal with on a yearly basis just to survive , so they made the pact to return to Antarctica to follow their every move so the world could also get a chance to be inspired by these driven creatures.
The two men follow the Emperors yearly mating ritual, which happens in March every year.
The men follow along as the penguins must walk to the distant place from their home where they travel to mate, follow along on another yet further journey where the penguins will lay their eggs, the penguins voyage back to their homes for food, back to the place where they laid their eggs and then once more back to their homes.
Along their way, there are many deaths and unpretty situations but this is how an Emperor penguin lives life in Antarctica.
Against all odds.
