The Sparks Brothers (2021)

Released June 18th in the US.
Filmed entirely in London.
The story: Ron and Russell Mael, brothers both born in California, three years apart to graphic artist Meyer Mael and librarian, Miriam Mael.
Meyer exposed his sons to the most popular music, movies and art, which inspired their lives immensely.
He died early on in the boys' life which brought them and their mother closer together.
Miriam continued to expose her sons to the most popular music artists of the day and movies, bringing them not only once but twice to a Beatles concert.
The Mael brothers attended UCLA and began performing and recording their own music.
They were hugely inspired by British rock, which really shaped and molded their own sound.
They had their sound and their look, which was somewhat similar to others but then again very different.
While shopping their music around, recording labels gave claims of loving their sound but never wanted to sign them.
Then, Todd Rundgren found them, jump-starting their progression.
Their sound was artsy and different and the people who loved their music were great fans.
When they weren't getting the right attention in L.A., they ventured to England but when they were let loose from there as well the brothers decided they needed to cut their ties from the rest of the band and go it alone, returning to England once more.
When they finally got a chance at exposure by appearing on 'The Top of the Pops', they finally began receiving the attention they were due.
But staying in the spotlight is a lot of work.
