The story : It is 1630 in New England.
William and Katherine are strict Christians and raising their five children the best they know how.
When their oldest daughter Thomasin is accused of doing secretive things and William swears its not so , the family is forced from the home that they know.
Soon they are living in the wilderness , alone and off the land.
One day when Thomasin is out playing with baby Samuel he disappears.
The family is heartbroken and doesn't know what to make of his disappearance.
But soon their crops fail, food becomes more and more scarce and they all begin believing , because they are sinners , that the evil of a witch has a grip on all of them.
