The story : As an only child , young James Brown has nothing.
His parents fight and he finds himself given up on by the both of them.
One thing he can depend on is the feeling he gets from the soulful music at a nearby church.
As a teenager , James tries fending for himself but soon finds himself doing time.
While in prison , James meets Bobby who happens to be a member of the band playing at the prison.
The two start a lifelong friendship as well as a band.
When the band finally gets recognized with the help of friend and up-and-coming music sensation Little Richard , the execs only want James.
But Bobby stays with James , knowing very well he is destined to be a star.
