The story: Charley Brewster is an ordinary teen who is spending some time with his equally ordinary girlfriend one ordinary evening.
Charley's favorite TV program “Fright Night” can always be seen on the TV in Charley's room and this night is no exception.
Charley happens to look out his window and he sees 2 men carrying what appears to be a coffin into the vacant house next door.
Charley tells his girlfriend what he has seen but she believes he is just making up stories as a result of watching too much “Fright Night”, so she doesn't believe him.
The next day Charley sees a woman go into the house next door.
Later on, he finds out that same woman has been found murdered.
Charley becomes very suspicious of his new neighbors and even more so when he literally witnesses one of them turn into a vampire before his eyes.
Charley tells the police, his mother and his friends what he saw and what he believes is living next door to him.
He even tries to enroll the help of the host of his favorite TV program.
But no one believes his story.
Charley becomes obsessed with destroying his vampire neighbor before he gets anyone else including himself.
