The story: It is 1959 in the suburban community of Suburbicon.

Nothing bad ever happens in Suburbicon, and everyone always gets along.

Young Nicky Gardner lives with his father, wheelchair-bound mother, and aunt in Suburbicon, and everything seems idyllic.

That is, until one horrifying evening when his family home is robbed and his mother loses her life.

This hits Nicky hard, but he still has his aunt, father, and favorite uncle to look out for him.

When Nicky attends the police station along with his father to pick the men who robbed them and killed his mother out of a lineup, his father says he doesn't recognize the men.

But Nicky knows that's not true.

After talking with his father about it, and his father flat out denies knowing what the men looked like, Nicky begins putting the pieces together.
