Mae West (1982)

Made for ABC, airing May 2nd in the US.
Filming location(s) unknown.
Based on truths.
The story: At 7 years old Mae West wanted to be famous.
Her mother was convinced that her daughter was special, talented and that someday she would make it big.
By the time Mae was a young adult, she was performing on Broadway.
After seeing a young man named Frank Wallace perform, Mae took a liking to him.
When the two came to Mae's father to ask permission to travel around the world, working as a team and he approved, both of their careers really started.
Shortly after the two married, Mae took a solo job, which she believed would make her famous.
But the critics weren't impressed.
It wasn't until Mae decided to change her persona that she began getting the recognition she knew she deserved, ultimately making her a big star.
