Punk : 104 (2019)

Made for EPIX, airing April 1st in the US.
Season 1. Episode 4.
The story: Punk rock did become a hard thing to find but grunge was everywhere...
The 90s brought a music scene where the artists just wanted to be seen and heard.
There was no previous hope of being famous or making a living.
Prior to grunge, music was very regional due to isolation so bands did their own thing.
The Grunge scene in Seattle was no different in that sense.
There were more women rockers now than ever before and they started their own fanzines.
Grunge music became a mutation of punk rock and new wave that the media could handle a lot easier.
This was a time of evolution.
The bands just wanted to live and their indie labels were making millions off their music.
Nirvana's album 'Nevermind' changed the face of music once again.
The industry was now looking for the next best thing.
Overnight there were so many new bands being signed to independent labels, which helped some of the veteran punk rockers finally sell albums.
By 1995 Van's Warped tour was a brainstorm which consisted of indie bands and skateboarding, two things young audiences put together.
The tour brought the music to a much bigger audience.
But sadly many bands at this time lost their way due to bad direction and being used by management and labels.
