The story: A 15-year-old girl named Beverly is dealing with rejection from the cute boy at school but knows no matter how much he makes fun, she is a really great writer.
At a party where she sees the situation as maybe the end of her life, she meets a guy who puts actions behind his words and defends her.
The two begin a relationship that results in getting married and becoming young parents.
Unfortunately, with all the help they get and how much Beverly does - things still fall apart for the couple.
While Beverly is dealing with being married to an immature father to her son and taking care of their child mostly by herself, she cannot let go of her dream, to become a published writer.
After everything Beverly goes through which seems grim, she gets by and eventually grows into the mother she believes she can be.
When Beverly's son is grown and attending college, she is finally able to do what she always wanted to do - get the book of her life published.
With her grown sons' help, the book becomes a reality and a wake-up call to all she has gotten through in her life.
