The story: In Antarctica, an expedition guide is forced to take his sled dogs and a college professor far from the expedition base, on the scout for a very rare find.
When the professor is badly hurt on the way back to the base due to a bad storm on its way, the sled dogs are their only hope to get back.
Upon returning, everyone at the base must get the professor and the expedition guide to a hospital pronto via helicopter.
The expedition guide, although badly wounded, cannot bring himself to leave without his dogs.
Talked into it, he leaves to get the help they need only on account that he is promised to be returned to get the dogs.
After getting help, his heart is broken by the news he is told and when no one seems to care or want to help, the expedition guide finds a way to get back to his beloved dogs.
