The story: In 1989, an amusement park in New Jersey is closed down after some grisly murders.
The murderer is caught and sent to a mental institution.
Fast forward to the present day...
A bunch of college students en route their vacation accidentally hear about the amusement parks' new opening, without knowing anything about the murders.
Of course, they decide that seeing how it's on their way - why spend money on a boring same ole same ole hotel room when they could stay in the amusement parks dark ride for the night for free!?
Coincidentally...the group picked the wrong night.
