The story: Army Sgt. Neville has successfully moved his family out of New York on the verge of a dangerous disease spreading through the city.
He is sure he will find a cure and will join his family in a few weeks.
But with no avail, years later Mr. Neville is still working on a cure.
Alone, with his dog in a deserted city among darkness loving hungry zombies, he roams the streets in the daytime and locks himself away in the night.
He believes he is the only human alive now but desperately continues to work on the cure that would bring back the rest of civilization.
