The story: Harold Crick is a normal man who works as an IRS agent and counts how many times he brushes his teeth in a day.
One morning, while getting ready for work, Harold hears a woman's voice narrating his every move as he moves.
At first, everyone he tells about this odd phenomenon thinks he's insane until he finally meets a doctor who believes what he says is going on with him.
While visiting with the doctor one afternoon, Harold hears his narrator's voice by chance on the television.
Turns out she is a tragedy novel author.
Harold must now find the author of his every movement before she writes the ending.
