The story: A journalist with a teenaged son decides she would like to write a book, based on gang violence in the town she lives in.
After reading up on many newspaper articles on a convicted gangbanger on death row, she tries her best at trying to at least get an interview with the man.
At first, he is reluctant to talk with her at all.
But when she gets to know one of the counselors at the local community center, her luck takes a turn in the right direction.
