The story: A 13-year-old boy who goes by the nickname "Fool" is stuck in an awful dilemma...His mother is very sick and she cannot take care of Fool and his siblings and soon, they will be evicted from their tiny, rancid apartment.
A family friends' boyfriend tries to help Fool come up with the money by having him go along with himself and a friend into a crazy families home in hopes of stealing some said to be golden coins that are worth so much money.
When the three get into the house, they have no idea where to look.
But when the owners come home, they are now stuck inside the house.
Fool ends up being the only one of the three still walking, still looking for the coins and now trying to find a way out of the house.
After a while, Fool meets a few people who have been cooped up inside the home of these crazy people against their will.
Along with the help of these 'cellar dwellers' , the boys' fast thinking and bravery finally pays off and he accomplishes what he and the older men had initially gone into the house to do, on top of becoming a hero and saving so many lives.
