The Hills Have Eyes ; Wes Cravens' (1977)

originally posted on AOL Blogs, Saturday, June 10, 2006

Released July 22nd in the US.
Filmed in California.
The story: A large family takes a far-off-the-path detour while on their way to L.A. to get gas and stretch a bit.
They ask a gas station attendant about a place they are hoping to visit, a silver mine - before they go on to L.A...
The attendant assures them that there is no silver in the mines and they are better off just getting on the main road and going on to their destination.
But - of course, the family's father takes it into his own hands to try and find the silver mines on his own and by doing so, he puts his whole family at unnecessary risk.
The lot of them get themselves in more and more weird, confused trouble and unreasonable mayhem by the hour.
