The story: A young cowboy named Bud moves in with his uncle and aunt as a change of pace.
Bud frequents the popular bar Gilley's at night and works with his uncle in the daytime.
Bud meets a young cowgirl named Sissy.
The two married shortly thereafter.
When out when night and another man flirts with Sissy, Bud loses his temper.
The two separate shortly thereafter.
All this is revolved around riding the mechanical steel bull at Gilley's.
