The story: Charlie Mackenzie, a beatnik poet - meets a woman butcher, Harriet Michaels. Charlie thinks Harriet can quite possibly be the girl he's been searching for...That is until he reads an article in a newspaper about an ax - murderer who kills her husband on their honeymoon. Charlie still sees Harriet but constantly has suspicions about her.
