Based on the 1756 fairy tale written by Jeanne - Marie Leprince de Beaumont.
Originally released in France with the foreign title; La Belle et La Bete.
The story: When a French tradesman is caught picking a rose from the beasts' garden, the price to be paid is death.
Not wanting her father to see his demise, Beauty takes on the responsibility for her fathers' actions - by agreeing to go in his place, back to the beasts' castle.
The beast shortly thereafter falls in love with Beauty - although she does not return the sentiment.
Until later on, when she sees the Beasts' gentle and kind ways.
Beauty then falls in love also and with her love - she finds out more important things about her beast.
