The story: A master magician/illusionist named Eisenheim is the best in the land at what he does. He is so good that no one can figure out how he accomplishes his tricks.
He falls in love with a woman whom he used to know as a boy, but their love affair is a forbidden one.
The only way for the two to be together is up to Eisenheim and his best performance ever.
