The story: George Reeves, a small-time movie actor gets famous with his starring role in the hit tv series Superman, with the help of his lover/movie executives' wife Toni Mannix.
One night, during a, get together at his home George is killed.
No one knows for sure who killed him or if he killed himself.
But Reeves' mother is convinced he was murdered, so she hires a detective to try to prove her accusations.
Soon George's mother makes a deal with the production company who made the Superman show when they promise to commemorate her sons' fame.
Now the detective has no reason to finish following up on Reeve's death other than his own attachment to the mystery.
