The story: Sarah is a teenager who has moved to a different part of California with her father and stepmother for a change of pace.
Shortly after Sarah starts at her new school, she is approached and befriended by a group of three girls her age who happen to practice witchcraft.
The three girls are convinced that Sarah is the fourth piece to their puzzle, which will make all their spells work..and they do.
At first, their spells are just for fun, but the more they do the more serious the spells become.
In the end, their magic gets out of control and becomes more dangerous for any of them to handle responsibly.
