The story: Jerry Lundegard is a car salesman, married with a son.
his wife is from a wealthy family who doesn't care for him.
Jerry runs into some money troubles and when his father-in-law won't help him, he concocts a scheme.
He hires two hitmen with the help of an ex-con at his work to kidnap his wife and hold her for ransom.
This is to Jerry, a sure-fire way to get the money he needs from his father-in-law.
But things get complicated.
