The story: Henry Roth works as a marine veterinarian.
In his personal life, he dates many different women.
One every day in fact because of his inability to commit.
One morning while out to breakfast, Henry finds himself studying a very lovely woman and makes an effort to meet her.
Lucy and Henry engage in a very nice, long conversation that they both seem to enjoy.
They leave each other that day not making any future plans together.
The next day, Henry vouches to not let himself fall for Lucy and to stay away from the place where they met.
Henry decides to go on a blind date but realizes that it's not where he wants to be.
He goes over to the place where he met Lucy looking for her.
When he finds her there, he approaches her but she becomes frightened and annoyed by his presence.
Henry is confused.
A friend of Henry's' that knows Lucy tells him all about her.
She was involved in a car accident and as a result, has lost her short term memory.
