The story: A writer is going through an unwanted separation from his wife.
She is living in his home and he has moved out, living in seclusion to get away from his problems and maybe find a way to think straight.
One day he is approached by a stranger, telling him he has stolen his story and made it into a best seller.
The one problem the stranger has with the story is that the ending is not the way he sees it should be.
The stranger finds many ways to convince the writer he is not kidding and will stop at nothing until he decides to rewrite the ending.
After many things go wrong because of all of this he begins carrying out the requests of the stranger.
The writer feels he must do what the stranger tells him because he has asked many for help, and all help has failed him leaving him feeling all alone to deal with the situation.
He finally thinks back to his past, when he wrote the story and by adding the strangers ending decides it is the better.
But the new ending drives him over the edge.
