The story : In July of 2010 the superintendent of schools in Bertie County , North Carolina had a brainstorm.
Small North Carolina towns where seeing a plummet in public education and were in need of a better strategy.
Superintendent Dr. Chip Zullinger decided to take a chance on Emily Pilloton and Matt Miller.
Emily and Matt have both studied architecture and make a living bringing their creative problem solving skills to communities in need....
So this time around , Emily and Matt are hired by Dr. Zullinger to do their magic in the small North Carolina town of Windsor.
Their plan is a hands-on workshop for a group of high school juniors.
The students are accustomed to doing all and every aspect of their school work on computer.
This will give them a different approach to things for a change.
The end result should be good for the students as well as their community.
