The story : Cate is a damn good attorney who used to be the DA.
But she ran into some trouble after acquiring a drinking problem.
She is on probation due to the circumstances and to boot , she has lost custody of her young daughter to her father.
Now her soul purpose is to do everything she can to get her daughter back.
That includes having to take court cases that she believes are shit.
She gets assigned to a case where a young women has been in prison for the last 5 years.
After reading up on the case , Cate is convinced that her client is guilty.
But after meeting with her and finding that many things don't add up , Cate believes her client is an innocent one.
