The story : He was danger that people were drawn to. He scared audiences and the people loved it.
A larger than life presence with true authenticity. A superstar and legend of his time.
Frank Goodish , better known as Bruiser Brody was a quiet , intelligent man.
He played football in high school and went on to college on scholarship due to his talents.
Going on to live family man life in Texas , he couldn't have been a happier guy.
Working was a big part of his life and livelihood. He wanted his son to be secured by it.
He was always trying to buy into the industry and did so in Japan. He was a true hero there.
Puerto Rico was another place he was trying to get his hands on , although Puerto Rico was known for its violence.
The audiences in Puerto Rico wanted the violence in their wrestling , the violence made it real.
Jose Huertas Gonzalez AKA Invader #1 was a very angry rival of Franks in Puerto Rico. There he was being groomed to be their next best.
In their past Frank had beat the snot out of Jose so bad that he swore to kill him one day.
Shortly before the two saw each other again , Jose lost his only child in a drowning accident so his head wasn't in a good place.
On July 16 , 1988 Frank got the call to go to Puerto Rico from their World Wrestling Council.
He couldn't wait to get there as he vaguely told people WWC owed him money and he was trying to buy into their business.
He told friends he wasn't leaving until he got his money , no matter what he had to do to get it.
But that evening , right before the show , Frank was called into a private room by Jose to talk and that's when things turned deadly.
