The Monster Club (1981)


Released May 27th in the US.
Filmed entirely in England.
The story : Famous horror writer R Chetwynd Hayes is out for a late night stroll when he is approached by a beggar named Eramus.
Eramus complains of not have eaten in weeks. Hayes offers to help anyway he can.
That's when the Eramus shows his true self , as a vampire.
After Eramus realizes the man he just bit is the brilliant writer of monster stories he is so fond of , he wants to get acquainted.
Eramus confesses that if Hayes go along with him to a place where many monsters hang out , he will surely be inspired to write some really great stories.
Hesitant , Hayes goes along.
After arriving , the two find a cozy place to sit and Eramus begins telling stories due to a monster chart on the wall...
The first story is of a not-so human man who by necessity , has locked himself away from people...
He puts an ad in the newspaper looking for help with cataloging all his precious artifacts.
A greedy man and women concoct a plan for the women to go work for him , win him over and while doing so , rob him.
But the plan backfires in the most brutal way.
The next story is from a star speaker at the club , a popular Vampire film producer...
The story is about when he was a young , bullied child who yearned for his fathers company.
His mother , although loving , was no replacement for the attention he wasn't getting from his father , due to him keeping strange hours.
But in the end , the young boy realizes his fathers work has all been worth it.
Lastly , a film director is looking to film his next scene in a nearby town.
Without any help offered , he visits the town himself and right away finds that nothing there is anything like what he expected.
Soon trapped in the town a young girl who is also trapped there and not like the others , fills him in on whats going on.
But when they both try to escape together they find there is no escape...
