The story : Sam Cooke was born in Mississippi in 1931.
His father , a child of a slave with no education was a strong willed preacher man.
He moved his family to Chicago and there became a very dedicated and sought after preacher.
Sam had the gift of song and began singing in the church.
He went on to tour churches exposing his talent to many who loved to hear him sing.
But while traveling , Sam experienced a lot of problems due to segregation.
Sam vowed to change things for his people.
After Sam became famous and was shown on TV in the same ranks as Elvis , he became powerful.
He started his own recording label and seen to it that many talented artists were released.
Then eventually befriended Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X and was on his way to making a real political change.
But when Sam was found shot to death in a seedy Los Angeles Motel and law officials were not investigating the strange circumstances , people became suspicious.
