The story: In 2004, Janet is dating rapper, Jermaine Dupri.
CBS approaches Janet to perform, along with Justin Timberlake, on their halftime show.
She rehearsed relentlessly and the performance turned out amazingly.
But, much to her dismay, Janet has an outfit malfunction during the set, which causes overwhelming bad media coverage and trouble for CBS.
A week after the halftime show, Janet was taken off the guest list of the Grammy Awards ceremony.
MTV and VH1 blacklisted Janet and would not play her videos.
Instead of breaking down, Janet stayed focused. She worked and kept close with her friends and family.
Jermaine proposes and Janet accepts. But nothing comes of it and the two break up.
2007, Tyler Perry writes the movie 'Why Did I Get Married?' and gives Janet a leading role.
Then, in June of 2009, Michael passes away from cardiac arrest.
In 2016, 50-years-old now, Janet announces she and her husband are expecting their first baby.
Six months after the birth of her son, Janet goes on tour and she's the happiest she's ever been.
In 2019, Joseph Jackson passes away after battling cancer.
Janet is grateful for all that her father did for her and her family.
Next, she is inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
Janet's influence is one that cannot be escaped.
