The story: In 1977, Larry Levenson had a dream.
Divorced, father of two young sons who was seeing a like-minded woman, and the two were interested in swinging...
Larry opened the exclusive, Upper East Side Manhattan club - Plato's Retreat, for couples only, where the people could let go and lose their inhibitions fully.
There was a 25 dollar per couple club membership fee which included, a bar, a buffet, dancing, swimming, relaxing and, a lot of human interaction...
Things weren't typical at Platos Retreat, but the people who were involved with it and its scene enjoyed it.
But, like everything, nothing lasts forever, and when Larry became too talky, mentioning his lack of paying taxes on his establishment, everything came to a screeching halt.
