The story : There was a time when the king of punk funk was the most famous guy in the world.
Back when marijuana was illegal , Rick was also the most dangerous guy in America.
Born and raised in Buffalo , New York.
Rick was surrounded by music as a child.
His mother , a former showgirl raised Rick and his seven brothers and sisters catholic.
She seen musical potential in her young son and would commonly take him to bars and nightclubs where he was always exposed to music.
As a young adult that was dodging the draft for playing music , he was on the protest scene.
There he met and worked with many up and coming artists , one good friend was Neil Young.
Rick was in a band with Neil Young until he got arrested for draft dodging. When he got out of jail he was free to live his life the way he wanted...and that he did.
He got in touch with a childhood friend and the two formed a band.
They started the rebellious punk funk movement and everywhere Rick and his band went the cops were always messing with them.
Rick was always trying new gimmicks and watching what the public was paying attention to.
But when MTV came on the scene and would not play Rick's music things got ugly.
